Share the excitement in this video of the discovery of a lost genealogical treasure as cousin John P. Munro uncovers a buried gravestone in an older section of Oakwood Cemetery back in August 2013. The headstone was that of Hannah Jeanette (Munro) Williams (1814-1846) and four of her children:
- Helen M. Williams (1837-1850)
- Daniel O. Williams (1841-1843)
- Sara J. Williams (1842-1843)
- Rollin C. Williams (1846-1846)
Hannah was the wife of Elijah D. Williams (1807-1875). She was a granddaughter of Squire Munro (1758-1835); the daughter of John Munro (1781-1860) and Hannah Coman (1784-1859). Unable to find a stone for Hannah in the plot of her husband, John noticed a space next to his headstone and one thing lead to another. Before we knew it, we had uncovered a piece of history long buried under a thick layer of grass and dirt.
