This book is a complete name index for the 1999 edition of Mary Ellis Maxwell’s 1952 book “Among the Hills of Camillus”.

Mary Ellis Maxwell (1876–1957) founded the first free library in Camillus in 1919 and was village librarian for 38 years. She also served as the town and village historian for many years and served on the board of directors of the Onondaga Historical Association. In 1952, she published the book “Among the Hills of Camillus”, a book containing a wealth of historic and genealogical information about the area in Onondaga County, NY were the Munro family prospered for generations. The material in the book was gathered by Maxwell and included information and writings by some older members of the town who shared the memories of their ancestors. One of these sections was written by Squire Munro descendant, Philip Allen Munro (1876-1963) and focuses on the genealogy of the Munro line and allied families.
